I was born in Surry County N.C. and was raised in Hillsville V.A. I obtained my CNA certificate in V.A. I moved back to N.C. in my early adulthood obtaining my CNA license in N.C. becoming licensing in both V.A. and N.C. Wanting to be more involved with all age groups; I obtained my Early childhood Credentials age birth to 12 years, (NCECAC). After spending 15 good years in home health and childcare developmental/daycare programs, I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field. After several years of experience working with a state agency in the mental health field I qualified as a paraprofessional becoming a Behavioral Tech. I have four children and three grandchildren. As a mother of a child with special needs (CP), I have personal experience with special needs children. I am a member of a parent-to-parent reach out team and enjoy getting involved in the community with parents of special needs children; to teach and educate them about services available in and around our surrounding areas. I am CPR/First Aid certified. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, movies, crafting/decorating, nature walks, board/card games and spending quality time with friends and family.
